Walk for a Healthy Community

Drug Free Pennsylvania would like to invite you to the Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Shield on June 7, 2008 in Harrisburg.

Highmark handles the logistics for the walk; therefore, any proceeds raised go directly to nonprofits like Drug Free Pennsylvania. All told, the walk will provide opportunities for 26 nonprofit agencies to raise funds.

What a great way to spend an invigorating morning among so many people from our area and contribute to Drug Free Pennsylvania’s mission of combating substance abuse in our Commonwealth!

Here’s how you can help - You can walk as an individual or as a team of 5 to 6 people. Your team can include family members, friends and co-workers. Each team member or individual walker will need to raise a minimum of $25.

Drug Free Pennsylvania will be providing the following prizes for individual walkers, teams, and companies that generate the most in contribution dollars for our organization.

• 2 HersheyPark Full-Day Passes (Top Individual Fundraiser)
• $150 worth of Local Restaurant Gift Certificates (Top Fundraising Team)
• Catered lunch for 15 from Commonwealth Caterers (Top Fundraising Business)
• First 40 registrants will receive a Hershey Bears Calder Cup Championship T-Shirt
• 3 personal trainer lessons at Premier Fitness (Winner will be drawn from registered walkers)

With funds being so tight among the many nonprofit organizations, this event provides a tremendous opportunity for Drug Free Pennsylvania to obtain resources to reduce drug and alcohol abuse.
