To achieve our purpose of making Pennsylvania a safe place to live, work, play, and study free from the negative influences and impacts of substance misuse, we strive to inspire positive lifestyle changes and healthy choices.

If you’ve thought about fundraising for our programs to help families stay healthy and drug free, there are a lot of fun ways to do it. Consider these possible fundraising options: hosting events such as walks and runs, bicycle rides, silent auctions, musical performances or other organized activities. We can help you get started in planning, publicizing and carrying out a Drug Free PA fundraising event.

One of the pioneers of its kind in the US was our organization. The Pennsylvania Business Roundtable, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, The Pennsylvania Medical Society, and The Pennsylvania Bar Association were among the groups that joined forces to incorporate it in 1990.

The Governor and Attorney General had urged these organizations to play a significant part in the fight against drug misuse. The DFPA employs a multidisciplinary approach to the aim of eradicating substance misuse, which is overseen by a Board of Directors that includes representatives from all the incorporating organizations.
